Springbank 12 Year Old Cask Strength is made up of 70% whiskies matured in bourbon barrels and 30% from sherry casks. Big and wild as only Springbank can be, it shows sherried prunes, almonds and brown sugar with lighter notes of vanilla and apples intermingled with industrial smokiness.

Nose: This year's 12 year old cask strength kicks off with notes of marzipan, smoked meats and a smokiness akin to burnt matches.

Palate: The smoky, earthy note continues on the palate and a nuttiness is introduced in notes of pistachios. Caramelised brown sugar, prunes and custard round out this dram.

Finish: A sea salt note emerges in the finish, along with notes of red apple skin.
